Übergänge is an EP that displays the struggles of my past, and how I was able to overcome them. I chose four songs that I believed would best represent my life over the last year, and how its struggles have affected me to this day. From faith to death, I believe the messages in these songs, with or without lyrics, are a really good insight into my life.
The EP was named Übergänge, which means "Transitions" in german. The reason I called it this was because this album is very much about the transitions that I've needed to make over the past year. One of the major ones being because of the passing of my Opi (Jakob). My Opi often spoke german, and I really wanted to have this album be as strongly connected to him as possible, so I decided to name it in german.
Übergänge was recorded in the church that I grew up worshipping in. Being able to record in a place that I've spent most of my life in, and that has always been my home away from home was absolutely amazing. The massive space, then incredible lighting, and the fact that we spent our time recording in a holy place made this album that much more satisfying to me.
Übergänge was a completely different experience for me with my writing. Every one of the songs is incredibly inspired, and has a lot of meaning to me. Not only was it a new style of writing lyrically, but I have pushed myself musically, and have tried to break away from what I normally produce. If you have any questions about the album or any of the songs, please feel free to ask me. Thank you very much for your support, and God bless. Please enjoy: Übergänge.
